Rishabh Pant played yet another scintillating knock to put India in a dominant position against the West Indies on Saturday (October 13).

In reply to West Indies’ first innings total of 311, Team India were in a spot of bother at 162/4 on Day 2 of the second Test in Hyderabad. However, Pant changed the course of the match with his swashbuckling innings of 85*. The southpaw shared an unbeaten 146-run stand with Ajinkya Rahane (75*) and his 120-ball knock was laced with 10 fours and a couple of sixes.

After the end of second day's play, former England captain Michael Vaughan took to Twitter and predicted a stellar future for the Indian wicketkeeper batsman.

“Without question @RishabPant777 is going to be a Superstar .... #JustSaying ...” Vaughan wrote.

After making his international debut in T20s last year, Pant was handed his maiden Test cap during the third Test against England at Trent Bridge. Known for his swashbuckling batting style, Rishabh impressed one and all on his Test debut as he smashed English leg-spinner Adil Rashid for a gigantic six in the very second ball of his innings. Pant gave the glimpse of his exceptional batting talent when he notched up his maiden Test century on the last day of the fifth Test against England at The Oval.

Following his exploits in England, Pant had his first taste of Test cricket at home when India took on the visiting Windies side in the first of the two-match series in Rajkot. Rishabh Pant had scored a quick-fire 84-ball 92 in India’s thumping innings and 272-run victory in the Test series opener.

In his 5 Tests thus far, Pant has amassed 3339 runs at an impressive average of 48.43 with one hundred and two fifties.
