West Indies head coach Stuart Law believes that being tested against the quality spinners in India is an ideal preparation for their upcoming Bangladesh tour after his batsmen showed laudable fight on Day 1 of the second and final Test in Hyderabad on Friday (October 12).

At the moment, the Caribbean are battling out to level the two-match series in India after losing the first Test by an innings and 272 runs in Rajkot with Roston Chase’s hundred kept their hopes alive in the series, as they finished off their innings at 311 in Hyderabad.  

Besides Test, the West Indies are scheduled to play five One Day Internationals and three T20I matches in India before heading off to Bangladesh for two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is in November-December 2018.

Law told reporters in Hyderabad on Friday (October 12), “Coming to India we expect to play a lot of spin ... we are going to face lot of spin over there (as well), so it's good the boys are getting a taste of spin here. It's a great learning curve for us and we try and get the dirtiest and dustiest pitches to bat against them so we did learn how to play spin.”

Law praised the West Indies for their cricketing talent and a bright future. He signed off by saying, “The thing I have noticed at my time with the West Indies here is that there is a lot of talent, not only in this team but also in the whole of cricket back in the Caribbean.”
