This happened because of Mumbai Cricket Association’s (MCA) inability to pay its vendors. MCA had requested BCCI to host the ODI in Wankhede citing lack of a signing authority to clear payments after the term of the Committee of Administrators' ended on September 15. However BCCI refused the request and now has shifted the match to historic Brabourne Stadium, owned by Cricket Club of India.
BCCI released a statement saying, “Under the instructions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India appointed Committee of Administrators, the fourth One-day International match between India and Windies scheduled on 29th October at Wankhede Stadium has been shifted to Cricket Club of India, Mumbai.”
