IND v WI 2018: BCCI announces 12-man India squad for the second Test at Hyderabad

India won the first Test at Rajkot by an innings and 272 runs.

12-man squad announced for Team India for the 2nd Test vs WI | AFPThe Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 12-man squad for the second Test against the West Indies to be played at Hyderabad from October 12. The second Test at Hyderabad will be followed by a series of five ODIs and three T20Is.

India won the first Test at Rajkot by an innings and 272 runs, a record margin and seemingly, the team management and selectors didn’t want to tinker with the winning combination and has announced the same squad that was there for the first game.

This means Mayank Agarwal’s wait for an India debut extends longer and also Mohammed Siraj still doesn’t make it into the 12. KL Rahul, despite his duck in the only innings India batted in Rajkot, was given another chance to prove himself at Hyderabad. Prithvi Shaw, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja had already done enough with the bat and with the ball to ensure their places in the team.

The bowling attack remains the same with three spinners in Ashwin, Jadeja, and Kuldeep, who picked a fifer in Rajkot. Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav will helm the fast bowling duties and Shardul Thakur will be their backup.

India squad for the second Test vs WI:

KL Rahul, Prithvi Shaw, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (C), Ajinkya Rahane (VC), Rishabh Pant (WK), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammad Shami, Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur
