Ahead of the second Test against the West Indies in Hyderabad, Team India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun has said that the world No. 1 Test side will field their best possible playing XI.

The Virat Kohli led side had thrashed the Windies by an innings and 172 runs in the opening Test at Rajkot. Therefore, some speculations were going on whether India will try some fresh faces in the playing XI keeping in mind the forthcoming Test series in Australia.

Addressing the media, Arun said the management believes that every member of the 16-member squad is good enough to play for the country.

When asked if the series against West Indies is an ideal preparation for the conditions Down Under, Arun felt that every Test throws up a player to whom we can look for.

“For instance, look at Prithvi Shaw who was fabulous in the first Test at Rajkot. More than the runs he scored, the composure and the body language he showed are the kind of things we look for from a player,” he told reporters.

“Definitely, we are delighted with the way the bowlers are doing well consistently at the highest level. Still, we are constantly looking for improvement in all areas,” he added.

Talking about Ajinkya  Rahane, who hasn’t lived up to the expectations in Test cricket lately, Arun said: “He had been in pretty good shape and his overseas record is one of the best. He got everything to be a world class player.”

Reflecting his thoughts on pacer Mohammed Siraj, whom he groomed when he was with the Hyderabad Ranji team, Arun said: "He is a very very quick learner and during my stint with Hyderabad, I found him picking up things quickly. With experience and recent performances for A team showed how quick a learner Siraj is."

Despite his inconsistent showing of late, KL Rahul may get another chance in the second Test while Umesh will have to make way when Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma make a comeback.

"It's really unfortunate that Umesh didn't get to play a lot in South Africa and in England. The reason being, bowlers who played, performed exceptionally well," said Arun.

“For me, Rahul is a fantastic player and should be persisted with,” he concluded.
