IND v WI 2018: First Test - Day 2 : Statistical Highlights

All the major stats from the second day of First Test between India and West Indies in Rajkot.

India continued their dominance over West Indies in the first Test match at Rajkot as their bowlers have dismissed six Windies batsmen for just 94 runs after posting 649 runs on the board.

On the second day of match, India resumed batting on 364/4 and the pair of Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant added 133 runs for the fifth wicket and put West Indies on backfoot. Virat Kohli scored his 24th Test hundred while Rishabh Pant missed his back to back Test hundred by 8 runs. And after their dismissals Ravindra Jadeja carried the baton forward and smashed the Windies bowlers all over the park and scored his maiden Test hundred and India declared on 649/9.

In reply Shami gave India a great start and removed both Windies openers in his first three overs and after that Windies couldn't put up a fight and kept losing wickets regulary and ended on 94/6 at the end of the second day.

1 - Virat Kohli became the first captain in the world and first Indian player to score 1000 or more Test runs in three consecutive years. He scored 1215 runs in 2016, 1059 in 2017 and has now scored 1018 runs in 2018 so far. 

11 - Virat Kohli became the 11th Indian player to score 3000 or more Test runs at home and took just 53 innings to achieve this milestone - the joint fastest to score 3000 Test runs in India.
