India declared their first innings against the West Indies in the first Test at 649/9 at Rajkot. This came after the first day was highlighted by a debut century from Prithvi Shaw and 86 from local boy Cheteshwar Pujara.
However, the second day was marked by a century from Virat Kohli and a belligerent 92 from Rishabh Pant. Virat Kohli scored a sublime 139 and Pant hit 4 sixes and 8 fours in his 92.
However, the most exciting and emotional moment came from another local Rajkot boy in Ravindra Jadeja, who smashed a maiden Test century, a 100* in 132 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes. Jadeja added 55 runs with Umesh Yadav (22) and reached his maiden ton in the company of no.11 Mohammad Shami.
Jadeja celebrated his ton with his patented sword celebration.
