Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli is sailing through high waves with ease. Virat, on Friday, scored his 24th Test century and now has second most number of Test hundreds among active players. He left the discarded Australian captain Steve Smith behind who has 23 Test tons and only Hashim Amla stays ahead of him with 28 hundreds at the moment. 

Kohli scored 139 runs in the first innings of Rajkot Test against West Indies. The 29-year-old reached the 3000 Test runs mark in India. He took just 53 Tests to do so. 

Virat had a good outing in England as well. The English conditions had bothered him in past but this time he returned with impressive numbers from there. His scores in England read, 49, 0, 46, 58, 97, 103, 23,17, 149, and 51. 

The Indian stalwart is also the only Indian player and captain to score 1000+ Test runs in three successive calendar years. This was also Kohli’s 17th Test ton as captain, which is the third most Test century by a skipper behind the likes of Graeme Smith (25) of South Africa and Ricky Ponting (19) of Australia.

Kohli, with 123 innings, took the second least innings to 24 tons. He joins an elite group comprising of Donald Bradman (66), Sachin Tendulkar (125), Sunil Gavaskar (128).
