Rohit Sharma recently led India to glory in the Asia Cup, with the defending champions winning every match under his captaincy to retain their title as the 'Champions of Asia'. Rohit himself was in splendid touch as the opener scored 317 runs in the tournament at an average above 100. His excellent performance resulted in him rising to the 2nd position in the ODI rankings.
Rohit's captaincy impressed everyone as he cleverly rotated his bowlers and kept calm even when things were not going his way in some of the matches, including the final. Unlike regular skipper, Virat Kohli who wears his emotions on his sleeve, Rohit was seen in command of the situation and kept his cool.
His supporters were expecting some good news with the Indian Test squad announcement for the Windies series coming on the back of the success in the Asia Cup, but were in for disappointment as Rohit was once again ignored by the selectors who chose to stick with Hanuma Vihari.
Rohit last played Tests for India in South Africa where he had a rough time before being dropped for Ajinkya Rahane who is deputy to Virat in Tests. Rohit has since stated that he doesn't think a lot about the future of his Test career and will continue to play the way he has and leave the rest to destiny.
Rohit's fans expressed their anger at the selection committee on Twitter and made it clear that they want to see him back playing in whites for India. We have collected some of the tweets here:
Not interested in Test matches! Our skipper is best of all! #Rohitsharma !???? pic.twitter.com/XrXEqZWA8W

Why no Rohit Sharma in Indian Team squad for WestIndies Test Series? After Kohli, he’s the best batsman available. And in terms of talent, he’s the best batsman in world. #CricbuzzLIVE #INDvWI #ShikharDhawan got what he deserves.

Lol scoring one century in 5 test matches doesn't make you say that they are better than Rohit. When was Rohit given a full test series to play. Always your shitty Virat would chop and change the team due to which confidence of players went down .Example- Ajinkya Rahane

They dropped him yesterday from the test squad and today he's the world's second best batsmen

#INDvWI Cruel of selectors & @imVkohli to have left out @ImRo45 from Test squad.Wasn't Rahane retained?Rohit's Test career has almost been destroyed by his frequent omission from Test team.Rohit is class. On current form, isn't he the best to open in Tests & to have led TestXI too
