Yuzvendra Chahal effected a brilliant run-out against Sri Lanka in the third T20I and looked surprised with his own effort.

India beat Sri Lanka 2-0 in the three-match T20I series after the first game got washed out due to rain. In the third T20I at Pune, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl first. The hosts ended up with 201/6 on the board. The Sri Lankans struggled with the run-chase as they lost early wickets and never looked set in the second innings.

In the 14th over of their batting innings, Sri Lanka were already 110/6 with them needing 92 runs off 38 balls and the game already tilted in India’s favour. The lower order batsmen tried to keep the scoreboard ticking and decrease the margin of their loss. Wanindu Hasaranga pushed a delivery from Shardul Thakur to mid-off.

Chahal was stationed at the position and was on his toes. He quickly reached the ball, picked it and threw it towards the non-striker’s end as he lost his balance. His balance did not affect the throw as the ball hit the middle stump and the jogging Hasaranga was very casual to get into the crease. He missed the crease by a few yards and was out for a duck.

The leggie was seen laughing as he lied down on the ground after falling. He was surprised to see the ball hit the stumps with the way he threw the ball off-balance.
