Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav revealed his way forward to getting a spot in the Indian national team.

The chinaman bowler never believed that he would get an opportunity to play for the Indian team. However, he has already played for the country for three years, before hitting a roadblock. He believes this is one of the challenges he would be facing at the international level and is ready to deal with it.

Kuldeep told PTI, “When I started playing cricket, never thought I would play for India. I have been playing for India close to three years now, there will be many challenges, like the one I am facing at the moment.

He has not only been kept out of the T20I side against West Indies and South Africa, but he has also missed out on the Test spot as India is now back playing at home. There is no substitute to Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in home Tests and this what has kept him out of the XI. He wants to work hard and earn his spot in the Indian side.

There is nothing possible without hard work and discipline and I continue to play the game with that approach,” he said.

The 24-year-old was in the thick of things for the ‘Men In Blue’ until the World Cup ended in July. He has been out of ever format since then. His limited-overs partner Yuzvendra Chahal has also been out of the T20I side as Virat Kohli & Co. wanted to try out the all-rounders Washington Sundar and Krunal Pandya as they provided better batting depth than ‘KulCha’.

He was asked whether the team management has conveyed anything to him about the reasons he has been dropped from the shortest format. He refrained from answering until the ongoing Test series against South Africa got over. I will talk about it when the Test series is over,” he said.
