IND v SA 2019: ICC’s Twitter account does a goof up; shares Day 2 report on Day 3 of Pune Test

The official Twitter account of International Cricket Council (ICC) made a glaring goof up on Saturday (October 12).

After the end of third day’s play in Pune between India and South Africa, ICC shared the match report on its Twitter page. But there was a clear mistake in the post as the governing body termed it as Day 2 report.

"Philander and Maharaj shared a 109-run partnership but couldn't stop India finishing off the South African innings by stumps. #INDvSA DAY TWO REPORT," ICC captioned the report.

The gaffe didn’t stop there as the subtitle of the day's report on ICC's website read: “Ind v SA, 2nd Test, day two, report” - again wrongly terming the third day as the second.

Team India dominated South Africa on Day 3 of the second Test. The hosts secured a massive first innings lead of 326 runs by bowling out the Proteas for 275.

Ravichandran Ashwin (4/69), Umesh Yadav (3/37), Mohammad Shami (2/44) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/81) were among the wickets for India while Keshav Maharaj (72) was the top scorer for the visitors.

India are now 326 runs ahead and have the option of enforcing a follow-on on the visitors.
