Virat Kohli smashed a handful of records with his career-best unbeaten knock of 254 on the day two of the second Test against South Africa in Pune.

The skipper overtook Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag by amassing a record seventh double hundred, the highest in Indian cricket history. The 30-year-old also went past Sir Don Bradman's Test tally of 6996 runs and surpassed him with most number (9*) of 150+ scores as captain.

Hailing Kohli’s brilliance, Zimbabwe batsman Brendan Taylor tweeted: “7 test double hundreds already. I’m sure @imVkohli will play for another 10 years which is scary to think what his numbers will be.”

Commenting on Taylor’s post, a fan wrote: “It’ll Be Very Very Hard For Kohli to Break Sachin’s Record oF Most Runs and Most Centuries In Test Cricket.”

To which, the former Zimbabwe skipper singled out Tendulkar’s record only that Kohli won’t be able to break.

“With respect to Sachin, the only record Virat won’t break is his 200 test matches. That’s just my opinion. Hopefully, no serious injuries or health concerns, because the whole world loves watching him,” Taylor replied.

It is worth mentioning here that Sachin has a world record number of runs (15921) and centuries (51) to his name in Test cricket. On the other hand, Virat now boasts 7054 runs with 26 hundreds in the longest format.
