India and South Africa are facing each other in the final game of the three-match T20I series at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday (September 22).

Opting to bat first in the series decider, the hosts lost Rohit Sharma (9) cheaply. The pair of Shikhar Dhawan and skipper Virat Kohli added 41 runs for the second wicket to steady the ship. Tabraiz Shamsi broke the partnership by dismissing Dhawan on 36.

Dhawan’s wicket triggered a collapse that saw India getting reduced to 98 for 6. Kohli (9), Shreyas Iyer (5) and Krunal Pandya (4) got out on a single-digit score while Rishabh Pant (19) managed to reach the double-figure.

Afterwards, the duo of Hardik Pandya (14) and Ravindra Jadeja (19) shared a 29-run partnership to consolidate the innings. In the final over, Rabada dismissed both of them while captain Quinton de Kock ran Washington Sundar (4) out as South Africa eventually restricted India to a paltry 134/9 in 20 overs.

For the visitors, Rabada returned with the figures of 3 for 39 in his 4 overs whereas Bjorn Fortuin and Beuran Hendricks chipped in with two wickets each.

Cricket experts on Twitter were surprised to see the way India’s batting unit failed in this match after a stunning chase in the Mohali T20I.
