Team India's new trainer Nick Webb was due to begin his stint with the start of the ongoing T20I series versus South Africa but hasn't yet arrived in the country because of unforeseen visa issues.

The New Zealander has asked for time from the BCCI to resolve the matter and is expected to finally join the squad before the Test matches next month.

"We've been told that he will come to Vizag and formally take charge of the side," a BCCI source close to the matter told Mirror. "His arrival got delayed due to work visa issues and all that now has been settled."

Webb was previously associated with the Central District team in New Zealand. He has also had stints with New Zealand women's cricket team as well as a rugby team in Auckland. The 32-year-old was chosen over Luke Woodhouse, S Rajnikanth, Grant Luden and Anand Date to succeed Shankar Basu in the India job.

In Webb's absence, A Harsha, the strength and conditioning trainer from the National Cricket Academy (NCA), has been training the players for the ongoing T20I series against Proteas.
