The second T20I between India and South Africa has gone mostly to the script given the good nature of the pitch and fast outfield. After the first T20I was washed out due to rain, the value of this match increased for both teams, which were filled with young and new names.
India won the toss and chose to chase. South Africa gave T20I debuts to Temba Bavuma, Bjorn Fortuin, and Anrich Nortje. India, on the other hand, opted to go into the game with as many as four all-rounders in the playing XI leaving out the likes of KL Rahul, Khaleel Ahmed, and Manish Pandey.
South Africa made 149/5 in 20 overs with De Kock making 52 and Bavuma making 49. Deepak Chahar picked two wickets, while Saini, Jadeja, and Hardik picked one wicket each.
India got off to a good start with Rohit hitting Nortje for two sixes, but was dismissed by Phehlukwayo. Then Dhawan (40) and Kohli put on 61 runs for the 2nd wicket and the duo was looking ominous but then David Miller happened.
On the 4th ball of the 12th over, Dhawan hit Shamsi straight down the ground and the ball was sailing for a boundary. But an airborne Miller intervened and though he didn't have much time to react or build momentum by sprinting, he dived to his right to take a one-handed catch that one-upped Kohli’s effort to remove De Kock earlier.
Both Dhawan was amazed and shocked by the spectacular catch and their expressions said it all.
