The day-night Test match has been mostly dominated by the Indian team thanks to their bowlers dismissing the visitors for 106 in the first innings.

Meanwhile, India declared their first innings on 347/9 with Pujara and Rahane making fifties and captain Kohli slamming 136, the first century by an Indian in a day-night Test match. Ebadot Hossain and Al-Amin Hossain picked up three wickets each, while Abu Jayed picked two wickets.

With a lead of 241 runs, Indian bowlers started off well with Ishant Sharma removing Shadman Islam, Imrul Kayes, and Mominul Haque, while Yadav got Mithun for a duck. Mominul Haque got a pair in this Test, the first Bangladeshi captain to do so versus India.

But then Mushfiqur Rahim scored a valiant half-century (59*) and Mahmudullah made 39 runs before retiring hurt after sustaining a hamstring injury. Ishant picked his fourth wicket in the innings by removing Mehidy for 15 runs. The last wicket to fall was that of Taijul Islam for 15, who was caught by Rahane off Umesh Yadav.

Bangladesh ended the day on 152/6, still 89 runs behind India’s total. Ishant picked 4/39 and Umesh picked 2/40.
