Indian bowlers decimated the Bangladesh batting line-up on the opening day of the first Test at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Thursday (November 14).

The pace troika of Mohammad Shami (3/27), Ishant Sharma (2/20) and Umesh Yadav (2/47) took seven wickets between them while off-spinner R Ashwin claimed two scalps as India bundled out the visitors for a paltry 150.

Had the Indian fielders complemented the bowlers by taking some simple catches, Bangladesh could have even bowled out for less than 100.

Despite the dropped chances, India skipper Virat Kohli’s energy didn’t go down a bit as he kept encouraging his bowlers. In fact, he also involved the crowd to get Shami all fired up and the speedster ended up picking Mushfiqur Rahim’s wicket.

In what would be the final over before tea, Shami steamed in and landed the ball on a length that hurried Mushfiqur in his defence. When Shami was walking back to his mark, Kohli sensed something and turned to the crowd, signalling them to cheer for the bowler.

What followed was an absolute peach of a delivery from Shami which nipped back in sharply to crash the stumps.
