Indian pitches are often criticized for leaving too much for later and no real contest between bat and ball in the initial days of the match. Usually, the foreign cricketers shriek about the Indian pitches being unfair.

A notable name in the list of ex-cricketers who always target Indian decks is former England captain Michael Vaughan. He doesn't get satisfied with whatever pitch is offered in a Test match in India.  Sometimes he feels the pitches are too flat to generate excitement in the first few days. While other days he targets the turning nature of the 22-yard in India which helps spinners.

Not to forget his words when South Africa faced India for the three-match Test series. "Test Match Cricket pitches in India are boring ... The first 3/4 days the contest is far too in favour of the Bat ...  needs more action for the bowler ... My thought of the day ... #INDvSA," he had posted on Twitter.

However, during the first Test between India and Bangladesh, Vaughan loved the way the surface behaved on day one with Indian fast bowlers getting movement off the pitch and trouling the Bangla batsmen.
