CAB also invited all former Indian captains for historic Kolkata Test.

With the preparations are on the full swing for the historic Kolkata Test match, as the iconic Eden Garden will make history by hosting India’s first-ever Day/Night Test match later this month and Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) isn't leaving any stone unturned to make it a grand and memorable affair.

CAB has mega plans to make the historic occasion even more special, as the state body has sent invitations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee to grace the historic moment with their presence in Kolkata.

On Thursday, November 7, the CAB joint secretary Debabrata Das confirmed that Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be ringing the customary bell at the Eden Gardens to kick start the historic pink-ball Test between India and Bangladesh, starting from 22 November.

However, there is still no clarity as to who would ring the bell on the remaining four days.

Mr. Das confirmed to Sportstar, “Sheikh Hasina has confirmed. It is difficult to say that now. It depends. But we will have a host of dignitaries present. It could be anybody.”

It is also being said that the well-known personalities from sports would also grace the event with their presence likes of chess legend Viswanathan Anand, Tennis star Sania Mirza, World badminton champion P.V. Sindhu, six-time World champion boxer Mary Kom and India's only Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, whom the CAB plans to felicitate.

The CAB also invited the Tennis great Leander Paes and badminton national coach Pullela Gopichand for the historic Test match in Kolkata. Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and V.V.S. Laxman have also confirmed their availability for the occasion.
