India’s stand-in captain Rohit Sharma will become the first Indian men's player to play the 100th T20I match when he takes the field in Rajkot in the second T20I match against Bangladesh on November 7, 2019.
Rohit Sharma has been exemplary so far in the format ever since he started opening for the Men in Blue and has now the highest runs in the format (2452), most centuries (4), the joint-fastest ton in 35 balls with David Miller and host of other records as well. He will go past Shahid Afridi who played 99 T20I matches for Pakistan.
He failed to get going in the first match despite a good start and will look to contribute big time in this do or die match for this team, as Bangladesh has a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series and a win here for the Tigers will ensure a first-ever T20I series win over India for them.
The BCCI got in touch with Rohit Sharma and in a video, he talked about his journey so far in T20I cricket and how he feels to become the first male Indian cricketer to reach the 100 T20I match milestone.
