IND v BAN 2019: Mahmudullah pleased after an all-round Bangladesh performance in Delhi

Bangladesh created history with a first-ever T20I win over India on Sunday.

Bowlers restricted India to just 148 and then stalwart Mushfiqur Rahim came to the fore with an unbeaten 60 as Bangladesh recorded a maiden T20I victory over its neighbours in Delhi on Sunday (November 3) to leave skipper Mahmudullah Riyad not complaining one bit on how the day went.

Missing two of their veterans Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan, the Tigers weren't at all expected to come out firing despite India fielding its second-string side. But that's exactly what they did.

"I think it was all based on how we started," said Mahmudullah at the post-match presentation ceremony. "The bowlers did a great job and everyone chipped in. I think we fielded really well and that gave us the momentum going into the run chase."

While the decision to bowl the ever-threatening Mustafizur Rahman for only two overs did raise eyebrows, Mahmudullah confirmed it was the case of creating right match-ups as planned for the conditions.

"I think captaincy was made easy because of the boys, who performed really well. I know that Fizz (Mustafizur) is one of our key bowlers, but I think the others were needed because of the prevailing conditions," he said.

Mushfiqur earned special praise from Mahmuduallah for playing the kind of innings he did and taking the team home.

"Mushy (Mushfiqur) was really good and had a good partnership with Soumya (Sarkar). I think Mohammad Naim deserves a mention as well. He played really well on debut," the captain signed off.
