As the air quality in Delhi slipped into 'hazardous' category, Bangladesh batsman Liton Das was seen wearing an anti-pollution mask while training at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Thursday (October 31) before the tour opening T20I match on 3rd November.

Bangladesh cricket team touched down in New Delhi on Wednesday (October 30) for the three-match T20 International series and two-match Test series against India. Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium will mark the opening of the much-anticipated series on Sunday.

After Diwali, Delhi's air quality index continues to deteriorate and it has been recorded between severe and very poor range for the last three days, which led many to urge Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to shift the match from the national capital.

Despite the poor air condition in Delhi, the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly confirmed that there will be no change in the venue and the first T20I at the Arun Jaitley Stadium will go ahead as planned.

As the match will be played in Delhi, Bangladesh cricketers held their first training session on Thursday, though some of the other touring players including Mushfiqur Rahim and Mustafizur Rahman trained without masks at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma-led Indian Cricket Team is reportedly planning to train indoors between 2 pm and 5 pm on November 1 and November 2 in Delhi.

A BCCI source told IANS, “The match shouldn't be a major problem as it is a night match, but the issue is the training (set for the mornings) and you could see optional training sessions on both the days if the weather doesn't improve. This isn't a fresh season and the players have already been playing so some gym sessions should be enough to get them up and running after the Diwali break.”
