In order to better manage his workload, India could rest skipper Virat Kohli for the upcoming T20I series at home against Bangladesh, says a report in Mumbai Mirror

Virat's is among the most overworked body in international cricket. The captain has been busy right throughout the year pre and post the ODI World Cup in UK.

The 30-year-old is currently taking part in the Test series against South Africa which is also part of the inaugural World Test Championship.

After hosting Bangladesh for three T20Is in Delhi, Rajkot and Nagpur on November 3, 7 and 10, respectively, India will face the visitors in a two-match Test series in Indore and Kolkata as well, starting November 14.

The team is also set to host West Indies, Sri Lanka and Australia for limited overs cricket this season before flying over to New Zealand for a full tour of five T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests in February-March next year.

Hence, the selectors are expected to weigh in the possibility of injuries to some of the team's key players like Virat, having already lost Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya for an indefinite period due to back issues.

India is currently preparing for the next year's T20 World Cup in Australia and could try out a few in-form youngsters like Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube if the skipper Kohli is indeed rested versus Bangladesh.

The selection panel will be meeting in Mumbai on October 24 to finalise a squad.
