India beat Australia by 7 wickets in the third and final ODI at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore yesterday night and clinched three-match ODI series by 2-1.

Earlier Australia won the toss and opted to bat first but they had a poor start and lost both openers, Warner and Finch, inside the first powerplay. Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschange rebuilt the innings and their 127 runs partnership for the third wicket set the platform for a good score but Aussies lower order couldn't do well and Smith alone had to do all the work. Smith played a brilliant knock of 131 runs and his innings helped Australia to post 286/9 on the board.

In reply, India started off well and opener Rohit Sharma smashed Cummins and Starc in the starting overs and put Australia on the back foot. KL Rahul got out cheaply but Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli took the charge and kept scoring runs with ease. Rohit Sharma brought up his 29th ODI hundred and his 119 runs knock set the match for India. In the end, Virat Kohli's 89 and Shreyas Iyer's 44* took India home comfortably.
