IND v AUS 2019: 5th ODI – Last chance for India to fill chinks in armor before World Cup

This is the last international match that Indian team plays before the World Cup.

Kohli still has to find his no.4 batsmen in the playing XI | GettyAustralia has made a brilliant comeback to win two matches on the trot to take the series to the deciding fifth ODI, which will be played at the iconic Feroz Shah Kotla Ground in Delhi. The Indian team had won the first two matches to take a 2-0 lead, but Australia tied the series with an amazing 4-wicket win in Mohali, chasing 359 runs to win.

Now, this match marks the end of international assignments for Team India and now they will directly play in the World Cup 2019. The Indian players meanwhile will play in the upcoming IPL 2019 from March 23. It remains to be seen whether the experiments and permutations and combinations about the perfect playing XI worked out or not. The no.4 spot in the team is still up for grabs and this match might see another change to that spot.

Australia still has one more series of 5 ODIs to play against Pakistan in UAE and hence, this match has a lot of value for them to find a winning combination as they did in Mohali. Ashton Turner turned the fortunes of the Australian team around and with Khawaja and Handscomb getting some runs consistently, things are looking good for the five-time World Champions.
