IND v AUS 2019: 3rd ODI – Team India poised to claim to series against Australia in MS Dhoni’s hometown

IND v AUS 2019: 3rd ODI – Team India poised to claim to series against Australia in MS Dhoni’s hometown

India has a 2-0 lead in the five-match ODI series.

MS Dhoni poised for a last international match in front of home crowdAs India and Australia meet in the third ODI of the five-match series at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi, there is only one thing on the minds of the home team players, to ensure a victory on this ground, as it is being played in the home of India’s most successful captains, MS Dhoni.

Dhoni hails from Ranchi and though he hasn’t played any Tests on this ground, he has played ODIs, T20Is and IPL games in front of his home crowd. As he gears up to play his fourth World Cup, this might very well be his final appearance in front of his own people.

Meanwhile, India has a hard-earned 2-0 lead in the series and they will want to keep the foot on the pedal and keep the pressure on. Good news for India will be the return of Bhuvneshwar Kumar into the squad and this will elevate their already impressive bowling attack.

Australia has the huge task of not losing wickets at regular intervals and especially to spinners, as Kuldeep Yadav has wreaked havoc in middle overs with help of Jadeja bowling tight lines at the other end. Indian batting is a concern for them since the top two have never got going. Ambati Rayudu has also got himself set and then lost his wicket and with Vijay Shankar shining with the bat in Nagpur ODI, he can feel the heat of scoring runs in Ranchi, or risk losing his spot to Vijay.

Australia will look to win a game back here in Ranchi and ruin the supposed farewell of MS Dhoni in front of his home town. While India is on aiming at the target of winning the match and with it the series as well.
