Former Indian cricket team manager and ex-Afghanistan coach, Lalchand Rajput has issued a warning for the batsmen, saying the spin sensation Rashid Khan would be dangerous for the hosts at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium wicket when they will play the historic one-off Test here on 14 June.

The 19-year-old leg-spinner has been in the outstanding form with the ball at the moment, finishing IPL 2018 as the second highest wicket-taker and now is feasting on the Bangladesh batters in the ongoing T20I series in India and he would certainly like to continue his stunning form in their maiden Test in India next week.

The former Afghan coach said that the Bangalore wicket will be crucial for the touring side as they have three quality spinners in Rashid, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Amir Hamza who can single-handedly win the match for the side. Rajput further said that India needs to manufacture a 'green top' as Afghanistan’s fast bowling attack is quite weak and the hosts can take the advantage of it.

As per reports in Times of India, Rajput pointed out, “On a turning wicket, Rashid will be dangerous. If we give Afghanistan a turning wicket, we'll perish, because they have at least three good spinners.”

He further noted, “Their fast bowling attack is comparatively much weaker. Dawlat Zadran is injured and Shapoor Zadran is past his prime. The best option for India is to go for a 'green top' and unleash their pacers, who can then even finish off the match inside three days.”

Rajput also shared a technique to counter the Rashid’s attack to stay on the field as much as possible. He signed off by saying, “It's very simple. If you try to hit him, you'll end up giving away your wicket. To negotiate him, you've to play on the front foot, and not go on the back foot at all. You've to try and not overpower him, but milk him for singles.”
