IND v AFG 2018: Rohit Sharma believes Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman will be dangerous for India

Rohit Sharma, India’s White-ball vice-captain, was all in praise for the young Afghanistan duo Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who were outstanding for their respective teams in the IPL 2018, saying the young guns will be a force to reckon with in Test cricket.

When it comes to Afghanistan cricket, then Rashid becomes an automatic choice to discuss, as the leg-spinner has taken the world cricket by storm with his sizzling bowling leg spin.

While, the youngster was also exceptional for Sunrisers Hyderabad, took 21 wickets conceding only 6.73 runs per over in 16 matches, finished as the second highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2018.

On the other hand, another Afghan off-spinner Mujeeb, who has been also grabbing headlines and stunned everyone for his accurate and consistent spin bowling at just age of 17, proved his mettle at the international level and IPL as well.

Rahman, who made himself a brand after his stunning display with the ball in the U19 World Cup, was phenomenal for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL 2018, took 14 wickets in 11 matches in his debut season.

Meanwhile, the 19-year-old and Mujeeb are the biggest positives for the Afghanistan cricket with their wonderful skill of bamboozling world-class batters, and they will also be crucial in their historic one-off Test against India to be held at the M.A. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore from 14 June.

On the other hand, Rohit is highly impressed with the way the duo has the control over the ball, saying they would be certainly dangerous for the hosts and the biggest threat for Indian batsmen with their sizzling spin in their maiden Test match next week.

In an exclusive interview with India Today, the Indian opener said, “I think Rashid and Mujeeb will be a force in Test cricket. Both of them have so much control over where they want to pitch the ball and if the pitch has anything to offer, they will be dangerous.”

Rohit signed off by saying, “We have capable batsmen who can handle spin well. But it will be a challenge for our batsmen to face their spin.”
