Kabir Khan has announced a film with actor Ranveer Singh, based on the life of former India all-rounder Kapil Dev and Indian Cricket Team's famous World Cup win in 1983. That World Cup win in 1983 is considered as the rise of Indian cricket.

Reportedly, the film will not start rolling before mid-2018; however, the makers of the film have locked down on a release date. The film makers took to Twitter to reveal that the film will hit the theatres on 09th April 2019.

While Ranveer is working hard for the movie, the in-form Hardik Pandya showed an interest to play Kapil's role in the movie, replacing the current actor.

But is Kapil Dev comfortable with it? We don't think so. Kapil is worried for his hairstyle. He is also not sure if Pandya (as Kapil) will start doing Gangnam Style after taking Sir Viv Richard's catch in 1983 World Cup final.

As if it wasn't enough, even Ravindra Jadeja also demanded Roger Binny's role in the movie.

That gave the director Kabir Khan a headache. In Kapil's iconic innings of 175* against Zimbabwe, Binny was at the other end of the initial stage of Dev's innings. Now, if Pandya plays his role and Jadeja plays Binny, Kabir isn't sure Kapil will be able to complete more than 50 runs even in the movie.

Sources had also said that Kapil wanted 14th Dalai Lama to appear in the movie for few minutes as a guest. However, Dalai Lama later denied it saying viewers may mistake him as Syed Kirmani.

There is high chance that Ranveer may still play the lead role in Kapil's biopic. Ranveer got the role after he promised not to play cricket wearing blazer and skirt over the cricket pads. It was highly expected considering his fashion experiments.
