After expressing a similar line of thought on almost everything, there seems to be a disagreement in opinion on practice matches during tours between head coach Ravi Shastri and Indian captain Virat Kohli. 

With India losing the five-match Test series 4-1, there has been widespread criticism of the visitors to have had basically no red-ball games preparation leading upto the series. 

Talking about the issue afterwards, Ravi Shastri admitted the importance of quality practice matches on tours and even revealed that he and the team management have requested the BCCI to arrange a couple of warm-up encounters before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia later this year. 

Speaking in an interview with ESPNcricinfo, Shastri, when asked whether he is opposed to the idea of adequate number of practice matches, said,  "Absolutely not. Why would we be? You can only see the results (in the England Tests). Every time after the second Test we have improved. You can still get better. But why can't we be in that position in the first Test match?,"

This is quite fine. But, what is interesting is that captain Virat Kohli has absolutely different views on the matter. 

In an interview with West Indies legend Michael Holding on Sky Sports, after having lost the Southampton Test, Virat questioned the quality of preparation that teams get from warm-up games on tours these days, when home boards rate winning at all cost more important than caring about the overall betterment of skills for first-class and Test Cricket. 

"Lot of people talk about tour games but where are those tour games happening and against what quality of bowling are very important questions to be asked." Virat had said, "Because if you don't get the preparation you need for a test series, then it is actually not utilized well. Time is not utilized well if you don't get the quality opposition that you will face in test cricket,"

Virat and Ravi, two quite similar personalities, seems to have developed a rare difference of opinion.
