England beat India by 118 runs in the fifth and last Test match at The Oval and won the five-match Test series by 4-1 and regained the Pataudi Trophy.

Though the scoreline doesn't tell India has been competitive throughout the series and with a little more effort from the batsmen, the scoreline could have been 3-2 in India's favour as they lost by just 31 runs and 60 runs at Edgbaston and Southampton respectively.

Indian bowlers as good as English bowlers in this series and claimed 84 wickets in this series and only Virat Kohli performed consistently with the bat. On the other hand, England top order also failed in this series but the lower order batsmen rescued them and helped to win the series. Players like Sam Curran, Jos Buttler, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Virat Kohli, James Anderson, Moeen Ali and Stuart Broad were the stars of this series.
