The prolific legends of the game, Kevin Pietersen and Alastair Cook’s relation both on and off the field is not hidden from anyone but it seems that the English duo wants to make amends of whatever animosity they have in their friendship.

Before turning out for the last time for England in the fifth and final Test against India at The Oval, Cook has confessed that he hasn’t spoken to Pietersen since his former teammate was infamously sacked by the country’s BCB following the disastrous 2013/14 Ashes tour of Australia.

Pietersen was infamously axed from the team due to his ‘poor attitude’ – in the words of former England’s director of cricket Paul Downton and even many believed that Pietersen was just made a scapegoat for England's losses in Australia and fans wanted Cook to stand up for him and get him back to the side. But former England failed to handle the matter well which he has also accepted in many media engagements.

Meanwhile, Pietersen decided to forget the past and paid rich tribute to Cook on social media after his last innings for England on the international arena on Monday (September 10).

Even, he also described it as a 'fairytale ending' for Cook in his latest post on Twitter which reads, “Bloody hell! Cook 100! Script written! Fairytale ending! Richly deserved having had to face a brand new Duke’s ball for 12yrs! BRAVO.”
