India opener Shikhar Dhawan has once again become the talk of the town on social media. This time, Dhawan has been slammed by Twitterati for his miserable performance in the fourth Test against England at The Ageas Bowl, Southampton.
On Monday (September 3), Dhawan took to Twitter to wish his teammate Ishant Sharma a very happy birthday as the latter turned 30 on Sunday. While posting the tweet, very little did Dhawan know that the Indian fans will brutally troll him in the comment section for his performance.
However, the anger among Indian cricket fans was such that Shikhar was told to leave the Test team by many while some hurled abuses at his post as well. Dhawan scored 23 and 17 in India’s 60-run defeat in Southampton. In three Tests against England this series, the southpaw has amassed 158 runs at an average of 26.33.
Here’s how the Indian fans reacted on Dhawan’s post:
Bhai please leave the test team. It has almost become predictable that Dhawan will get out under 30..... please forgive us , kya bigada hai. Stop giving us pain to watch u throwing ur wicket almost every time to slips or keeper . Kindly leave Test cricket and play only ODI . ????????

Coming to the match, India got off to a terrible start as they lost their top three for just 22 runs while chasing 245 in the fourth innings. Although Virat Kohli and Rahane stitched a brilliant 101-run partnership to bail India out of trouble, Moeen Ali got rid of the former just before the Tea break to dent India the visitors further.
Requiring another 119 runs to win, India started the third session horribly as Ben Stokes removed Hardik Pandya for zero. After some lusty blows, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishbah Pant (18) became the second victim of Moeen and all of a sudden the tourists were reeling at 150/6.
The scorecard soon became 153/7 with Moeen trapping Rahane in front for 51. Rahane’s dismissal was certainly the final nail in the coffin as England took the remaining three wickets in no time to complete the series win.
