Indian skipper Virat Kohli went past 6000 Test runs during his knock of 46 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton on day 2 of the fourth Test. India scored 273 and took a 27 run lead. Cheteshwar Pujara scored an unbeaten 132 and added some crucial runs with the tail after Kohli was dismissed.

After England summed up India conceding a thin lead, their openers Alastair Cook and Keaton Jennings added 6 before the close of play.

Post the day's play Virat Kohli posted a picture on his Twitter handle of a cake which was specially designed by the staff at the Harbour hotel in Southampton to congratulate the Indian skipper on reaching yet another feat in international cricket.

Kohli, the noble cricketer that he is, thanked them for this gesture and kept a special mention regarding their fabulous hospitality.

The fourth Test match, the way that he has panned out so far still has surprises in store with still three days to go.
