Indian spinner R Ashwin had an outstanding first Test against England. He was under huge pressure to deliver overseas and the offie had walked back with seven wickets in the first Test. But since then, Ashwin has managed to pick only one wicket that too of the tailender James Anderson. He was wicket-less in the second Test at Lord's.

Has English batsmen started playing Ashwin more cautiously? Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has an interesting answer for it. Gavaskar thinks an interview with journalist Ian Ward after the first Test turned things against Ashwin.

In his interview, when asked about how should youngsters go about their techniques, Ashwin explained everything including his bowling grips and different actions for particular deliveries.

“This recording will no doubt be used by the England think-tank and especially their batsmen when they sit down before every Test to plan how to counter the Indian bowlers and particularly Ashwin,” wrote Gavaskar in his column with the Sportstar Live.

Ashwin had revealed the delivery he worked hard and developed in last 24 months. He gave out a step by step breakdown of his multiple variations.

"It was like a magician revealing his bag of tricks to the audience. Perhaps it won’t make a difference and Ashwin will go onto bag heaps of wickets in the rest of the series too, but if he doesn’t then he has only himself to blame," Gavaskar added.

The technology has made things easy in cricket. Every team has a group who work hard to crack the bowler's various deliveries which could be very helpful for a batsman.
