Virender Sehwag, former Indian batsman turned Commentator, believes that India should play the same playing XI at Southampton that they played at Trent Bridge. The Southampton Test starts from August 30 which is a crucial game for India.

He feels that India’s Nottingham squad looked balanced and strong with a good pace attack, which can make big difference for the touring side, as they have to win the fourth Test to level the series.

However, Sehwag admitted that it is impossible that Virat Kohli will go with the same squad in the fourth Test to be played at Rose Bowl Stadium in Southampton from August 30.

India are still 2-1 down in the series after Trent Bridge victory and they would be certainly looking to extend their domination over England in the fourth Test to level the series with final Test to be  played at The Oval from September 7.

Sehwag told India TV on Saturday (25 August), “It is difficult to say that there won't be any changes. I personally don't want changes for the next Test but he (Kohli) might not. The team looks balanced and strong with a good pace attack and Ashwin in good form. The openers are doing well and the middle order also played well at Trent Bridge.”

He signed off by saying, “KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Kohli were phenomenal with their catching which was a big factor in the win. During my playing days we had an experienced slip cordon filled with greats like Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Tendulkar who hardly dropped catches.”
