Team India have roared back like tigers in the third Test match at Trent Bridge as they defeated the England team by 203 runs. It was a clinical performance by the visitors as they thumped the hosts into submission.

In quest of chasing 521 runs to win the match, England was never in the contention after losing the first four wickets for just 60 odd runs. Despite a 169-run partnership between Stokes (62) and Buttler (106); England were always playing catch up in the match and ultimately lost by 203 runs thanks to 5/85 by the Indian seamer Jasprit Bumrah.

Indian captain Virat Kohli shined with the bat with scores of 97 and 103 and he was well supported by Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, and Hardik Pandya. Pandya also set up the match for his team with his burst of 5/28 in 29 balls in England’s first innings, bundling him out for 161 runs in reply to India’s 329.

The Indian team now has a very good chance to square the series in Southampton in the fourth Test starting from August 30.
