The official Twitter account of Barmy Army, famous England cricket's enthusiast group had to face the backlash on the micro-blogging site after taking a jibe at the Indian team.

Indian bowlers had a task in hand to break England's backbone before going into the last day of the third Test. A target of 521 looked out of reach for the hosts after Virat Kohli-led team picked up four wickets in the first session of day 4.

But England managed to give Indian bowlers a headache after Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes showed good fight with the bat. From 62/4 to 231/5, Buttler and Stokes put up a partnership of 169 runs for the fifth wicket.

India went wicket-less on the second session of the penultimate day and Barmy Army took a dig at them. "Only rain can save India now," they wrote.

Looked like they didn't see Jasprit Bumrah's fire coming to burn down the English lower-order in no time. Bumrah caught Buttler in front of the stumps as he didn't offer any shot. Consecutive wickets came for India and the injured Jonny Bairstow was cleaned up by a beauty from the 24-year-old.

India picked up five wickets in the last session and the fans finally got a chance to hit back at Barmy Army. England are currently nine down, as game goes into the final day of the match.

Here is how they reacted:
