Team India are looking down and out in the ongoing five-Test series against England, losing the first Test at Edgbaston by 31 runs and suffering a humiliating innings and 159 runs defeat in the second Test at Lord’s.

After such a miserable show, the backlash from the fans was pretty much expected. And the Indian cricketers are currently facing the wrath on social media.

On Wednesday (August 15), Hardik Pandya shared a picture on Instagram with a caption reading: “#TravelDay LONDON ???? NOTTINGHAM”.

Minutes after the image was uploaded, the all-rounder started to receive negative comments from the Indian cricket fanatics. While some suggested Pandya to stay away from social media and focus on cricket, others went a bit further and hurl abuses on his post.

When it comes to Hardik’s individual performance in the Test series, the 24-year-old has scored 90 runs in 4 innings and has taken only 3 wickets on pitches assisting the seam bowlers.

After being bundled out for 274 and 162 in the opening Test, it was expected that the Indian batsmen would lift their game at Lord’s. However, the inept technique of visiting batters once again exposed as the English pace attack led by James Anderson made the most of seaming conditions in the second Test. While Anderson claimed 9-wicket haul, Stuart Broad picked up 5 wickets in the match.

None of the Indian batsmen managed to cross the 40-run mark at Lord’s. Ravichandran Ashwin was the top-scorer for the tourists in both the innings, with 29 and 33 runs respectively.
