Former England captain and Cricket Commentator, Kevin Pietersen wishes to see Ben Stokes into the Playing XI against India in the ongoing Test series after the all-rounder added to the national squad for the Nottingham Test after he was found not guilty of affray by the jury in the Bristol brawl trial.

It will now give the team management and the skipper Joe Root a headache in picking XI for the Trent Bridge game as England have now already a pretty balanced line-up and if they choose to go with both Chris Woakes and Ben Stokes, which will mean they have to let Adil Rashid go.

Stokes played in the first Test against India and had decent outing but had to miss the second Test as he had to be present in the court for the week-long trial.

With his absence, the opportunity went on to Woakes’ kitty and the all-rounder grabbed it with both hands, is in the fantastic form with the bat and played a key role in team’s win at the Lord’s Test.

However, Stokes returned to England squad for the Trent Bridge but there is uncertainty about his place in the Playing XI against India following Woakes’ stellar show at Lord’s.

Still, Pietersen has batted for Stokes to feature in the Playing XI against India. On 15 August, Kevin took to Twitter and demanded to bring Stokes back into the playing XI at Nottingham.

He wrote, “#BringStokesBack”.
