ENG vs IND 2018: Sanjay Manjrekar has advise for India’s batting coach Sanjay Bangar

ENG vs IND 2018: Sanjay Manjrekar has advise for India’s batting coach Sanjay Bangar

India got bundled out for just 107 and 130 at Lord's.

Sanjay Manjrekar has some crucial advise for India's batting coach Sanjay Bangar.

Having seen India's overall batting line up struggle against the swing and seam conducive conditions once again at Lord's, former Indian batsman and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has some crucial advise for batting consultant Sanjay Bangar to help the likes of Murali Vijay, Ajinkya Rahane and co recover their mojo.

While Sanjay couldn't help but admire James Anderson and Stuart Broad for being unplayable at times for their sheer excellence at the Home of Cricket, he is one of those who feel India's batsmen can certainly be more technically equipped for the challenge.

India lost by an innings and 159 runs by being bundled out for just 107 and 130 in both innings and now are 2-0 down in the five-Test series.

Sanjay tweeted about India's batting problems and mentioned, "As for India, well, no easy solution to their batting woes. Best we (can) control the controllables then. Like team selection & play the extra batsman in the next Test no matter what!"

He further suggested Indian batting line-up emulate more the methods that Ravichandran Ashwin is using rather than the exceptional ones that Virat Kohli employing. Ashwin looked good in defense and confidently played his shots to get 29 and 33* in both innings but what stood out was his lack of predominantly front foot stance that most players seem to bat with when it swings and seams and used the area behind the crease which allowed to him to play some good backfoot shots. Ashwin is a very contemporary cricketer but he batted, heartwarmingly, like a traditional one.

Sanjay tweeted, suggesting Sanjay Bangar as, "Sanjay Bangar must ask his batsmen to check out the space inside the batting crease and use it more, like Ashwin does. It will have surprise gifts for his batsmen. ????"
