England dispatched team India by an innings and 159 runs in the second Test match at Lord's and took a 2-0 lead in the 5 Test-match series.

England won the toss and opted to field first and against their top quality swing and seam bowling Indian batsmen looked totally clueless and got all out for just 107 runs. And in response England declared on 396/7 in their first innings with a lead of 289 runs.

In second innings also Indian batsmen couldn't put up a fight and team were bowled out for just 130 runs. For England Chris Woakes and Jonny Bairstow scored 137* and 93 runs respectively while in bowling James Anderson took 9 wickets in the match.

1 - This innings and 159 runs defeat is India's first innings defeat under the leadership of Virat Kohli. And also India's first innings defeat since The Oval Test (innings & 244 runs) back in 2014.

6 - R Ashwin (29 and 33*) is the first Indian and sixth overall batsman to top score in each innings of a Test match batting at number 8 or below in both innings. Tup Scott (AUS), Lee Germon (NZ), Guy Whittall (ZIM), Peter Siddle (AUS) and Graeme Cremer (ZIM) are other five batsmen to achieve this feat. 

6 - Murali Vijay became the sixth Indian opener to bag a pair in a Test match.
