ICC takes a dig at Virat Kohli with a 'mic drop' post which angers Indian fans

Virat had roasted Joe Root with a mic-drop celebration after running him out.

Apart from catch drops, mic drop remained in the talk throughout the Edgbaston Test between England and India. During first innings, Indian skipper Virat Kohli had run English captain Joe Root out and following the dismissal he celebrated it imitating the latter's mic drop celebration which he did after winning the ODI series.

It was more like mocking Root than celebrating in joy. The game was fired up at the time, however, India lost the match by 31 runs, and ICC's official Twitter account tried to roast Indian skipper using the mic drop reference.

As England goes 1-0 up in the 5-match Test series, ICC tweeted a picture and wrote, "Root out" along with a fisted hand sign and a microphone.

Surely it didn't please the Indian fans who were furious at this tweet and came up with hostile replies.

Talking about the first Test, India couldn't show any fight in the second innings with the bat, except for Kohli and Hardik Pandya down the order. It was England who ran over India with the ball and as Virat was dismissed by all-rounder Ben Stokes, any hopes of an India win also evaporated.

Pandya received criticism for giving the strike to tailenders instead of facing more deliveries himself.
