Virat Kohli keeps rising as he is on his way to becoming a great of this game. The one stain on his illustrious career till now was removed by the Indian skipper on Thursday when he scored 149 in a tough situation against England at Edgbaston.

Virat kept most of the strike while batting with the tail and scored maximum runs of his innings with them. In the end, India was brought to save zone by the captain and only a 13-run lead was handed over to England before they came out to bat in second innings.

India cricketer Yuvraj Singh lauded his friend Virat for the milestone and said, "Don’t think after this knock @imVkohli needs to prove anything to anyone on his journey to greatness ????????" in his tweet.

India scored 274 runs in the first innings in reply of England's 287. R Ashwin gave the hosts early breakthrough by sending Alastair Cook back to the dressing room once again. The wicket almost mirrored the first innings' dismissal of Cook.
