Having seen the impact that he can make in those conditions on the second day of the Edgbaston Test, England team management led by captain Joe Root and head coach Trevor Bayliss are seriously considering options to somehow have Ben Stokes available for selection for the second Test at Lord's against India.

The day after the Edgbaston Test is scheduled to finish, Stokes is due to be present in court in Bristol on August 6 to face a charge of affray with the case scheduled to last somewhere between five days to a week but the England team management is keeping an open mind about allrounder's availability, should the case be adjourned for any reason. According to ESPNcricinfo, If that were to happen on the first or second day of the hearing then home side will consider Stokes's involvement in the Test at Lord's.

Stokes made crucial breakthroughs on Thursday, August 2, to help ensure England restrict India to 274 all-out despite Virat Kohli's highly admirable knock of 149. England tends to balance their side around the all-round ability of Stokes, no wonder they are desperate to have him available for selection all the time.
