Fans always look keen to hear the words uttered by the wicket-keeper and close-in fielders. They were treated by Indian current Test wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik in the on-going Test match between India and England at Edgbaston.

When off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was bowling, Karthik guided him from behind the wicket that too in his mother tongue, Tamil. When English opener Keaton Jennings was batting, Karthik asked Ashwin to keep the length up to him. Karthik said: "This fellow is tall, you need to keep the length up to him."

Ashwin was asked to bowl by skipper Virat Kohli in the initial overs of the day and he didn't disappoint by dismissing England opener Alastair Cook instantly.  Before Cook's dismissal, Karthik told Ashwin to keep patience while trying to turn the ball. He motivated the offie with his words, "Patience, Ashely Patience. It's going to turn just wait and watch."

Even when England captain Joe Root was batting, Karthik gave Ashwin some tricks. "Keep the next three in the same place. Let's see what he does," he said.

We got to know Ashwin's another nickname, 'Ashley', through the stump mic. Ashwin's Tamil Nadu teammate amused the Twitter with his chattering in the Tamil language to keep England batsmen guessing what he is saying.

Ashwin picked up four wickets on day 1 and put India in a comfortable position after England dominated half of the day.
