Team India began the five-Test match series on a high note as they reduced the hosts to 285/9 on the first day of the first Test match at Edgbaston in Birmingham. England opted to bat first and at one stage they were looking set for a massive score but after Joe Root's run out, Indian bowlers pulled things back and triggered a collapse and took 6 wickets for just 68 runs and reduced the English team to 285/9 from a strong position of 216/4.
