ENG v IND 2018: WATCH – R Ashwin pegs Alastair Cook’s off stump back with a beauty

India has never won a Test at Birmingham.

R Ashwin clean bowls Alastair Cook England and India are in battle during the 1st Test of the five-match series in England. The first Test is being played at Edgbaston, a ground where India is yet to win a Test match.

England captain Joe Root won the toss and decided to bat first on a seemingly good wicket. Virat Kohli also had a surprise in store for the fans, as India dropped Cheteshwar Pujara and included KL Rahul in his place. Both the teams are playing one spinner each in Adil Rashid for England and R Ashwin for India.

England started off safely and India introduced spin in form of R Ashwin as England openers steadily made themselves comfortable. Ashwin struck a vital blow when he clean bowled a settled Alastair Cook.

Cook has been a thorn in Team India’s way on two previous tours. Ashwin bowled a beauty of the delivery, which curved into the left-handed batsman, pitched on the leg stump and spun enough to beat Cook’s defensive push and rattled his off stump.
