The much-awaited five Test match series between England and India is commencing today at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Both the teams have already played limited overs series, India won T20I series while England won the ODIs.

And now the litmus Test begins for number one ranked side India and they have the potential to win series in big countries like England, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand etc. England is the only place where Virat Kohli hasn't done well in Test cricket yet and he will be eager to score plenty of runs this time and if he comes good then India have a great chance of winning their first Test series in England after 11 years.

93 - Murali Vijay needs 93 more runs to complete 4000 Test runs. He will become the 16th Indian player to reach the landmark of 4000 Test runs.

977 - Runs scored by Virat Kohli at an average of 44.40 against England and needs 23 more runs to complete 1000 Test runs against them. 

1000 - Edgbaston Test will be England's 1000th Test match and they will become the first ever nation to play 1000 Test matches.

2893 - Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane needs 107 more runs to become the 22nd Indian player to reach the milestone of 3000 Test runs.

5960 - England captain Joe Root (5960 runs) needs 40 more runs to complete 6000 Test runs. Root will be 15th England player to score 6000 runs in Test cricket.
